“It’s not like you can just decide to join T1 because you want to. The team really wanted me as well, so I think the fit between us will turn out really well.”
In a podcast released on T1’s YouTube channel on December 25, the team’s new AD Carry Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan spoke about the opportunity to join T1, the team’s facilities, his relationships with his new teammates, the KeSPA Cup, and his partnership with his new support, Ryu “Keria” Min-seok.
Peyz was one of Gen.G’s star players between 2023 and 2024. Promoted from the academy at just 17 years old, he quickly established himself as one of the biggest prospects in the world, if not the biggest. After two strong years in which he won multiple LCK titles as well as an MSI trophy, he was forced to leave South Korea and joined JD Gaming in the LPL.
It was a rather difficult year. Speaking about it, he said: “There is not much of a difference between playing in the LPL and the LCK. The biggest one was that, because I don’t know Mandarin well, I couldn’t really talk to most of my teammates.” At JD Gaming, Lee “Scout” Ye-chan was the only other Korean player, and Peyz had to learn Mandarin at the same time.
Joining the Biggest Organization in the World
Peyz also spoke about his arrival at the six-time world champions: “If you want to win, you need great players. T1 is a really amazing team, and I always thought I wanted to play here at least once, so that’s why I came.” This move was the biggest shock of the LCK offseason, as Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong joined Hanwha Life Esports, opening the door for Peyz to sign with T1.
Peyz also reflected on T1’s KeSPA Cup victory over HLE in the final: “I didn’t expect to win the KeSPA Cup since we went into it without even practicing. But during the tournament, we started to understand each other’s playstyles and felt that the teamwork was clicking. By the time we reached the final, I had a feeling we could win.”
Peyz X Keria, a New Duo
The new AD Carry also shared his thoughts on his support, three-time world champion Ryu “Keria” Min-seok. Even before joining T1, Peyz viewed Keria as a uniquely talented and exceptional player. Now playing alongside him, he believes they read each other’s intentions well, creating a strong sense of synergy that makes the game feel smooth and comfortable.
With Keria, Peyz is also guaranteed stability in the botlane. In 2025, he played with three different supports across three splits—Lou “MISSING” Yun-Feng, Zhang “Wink” Rui, and Wang “Zhuo” Xu-Zhuo—none of whom fully provided what a hyper-carry like Peyz truly needs. With Keria by his side, he should finally have the support required to maximize his potential.
