Two new players make their debut in VCT
With only a few weeks remaining before the VCT China season resumes, Wolves Esports have decided to make a change to their roster. Despite recruiting Fei "Satoshi" Zhixian during the offseason, the player is not expected to compete with the team next year, sources tell Sheep Esports.
Instead, Wolves Esports will move forward with a six-man roster by adding two new players. The first is Bijan "autumN", while the second is a young Duelist known as "glacier". The latter will not begin the season immediately, as he is set to turn 18 on March 31.
Two unconventional profiles
Although Wolves appeared to have finalized their roster for the upcoming season and had already begun competing in offseason tournaments, a late adjustment has ultimately been made. Satoshi joined the team from Rare Atom after competing in VCT Ascension China, but his transition to the VCT level proved difficult. Playing primarily as a Duelist, he struggled to make an impact and failed to convince the organization. Wolves have yet to make a final decision regarding his future, with the player potentially being released or reassigned to an academy roster.
To replace him, the organization opted for two distinctive profiles. The first is autumN, who played last season with Thunder Gaming as an in-game leader and helped guide the team all the way to Ascension. He is also well known for his individual performance in ranked play, having surpassed 1,000 RR on the Chinese server.
At the same time, Wolves secured the signing of a young Taiwanese Duelist, Glacier. Although he has not yet reached the minimum age requirement to compete, his standout performances at the lower tiers caught the attention of VCT-level teams, prompting Wolves to secure him early as a long-term investment.
With these changes, Wolves Esports are aiming to surprise their competition and perform at a higher level this year. After an unexpected third-place finish in VCT China Split 1 and a strong showing at Masters Toronto, the team struggled in the Kickoff event and Split 2. The organization will now be looking for greater consistency and improved results across the entire season.
