This is the second time Aiming returns to KT
KT Rolster is bringing back its former AD carry for the upcoming season. Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram will return to the recent Worlds finalists after spending two seasons with Dplus Kia, as announced by the team on social media on Thursday. He previously played three seasons with KT Rolster earlier in his career.
After losing the Worlds final to T1 a few weeks ago, KT Rolster immediately dove into a busy offseason. The team’s botlane departed for DN Freecs, and Seo "deokdam" Dae-gil—who had delivered an exceptional performance throughout Worlds—will now be replaced by Aiming.
Aiming’s first stint with KT Rolster began in 2020 but yielded unremarkable results, as the team remained in the middle of the LCK standings and failed to qualify for Worlds. Aiming left for the LPL, yet after a year with Bilibili Gaming, he returned to KT in 2022—only to face the same outcome.
A second return after two unproductive years
One year later, the team improved significantly, qualifying for Worlds by finishing third in both splits. Aiming played some of the best League of Legends of his career, and the roster reached the quarterfinals, where they were eliminated by JD Gaming. Aiming then left KT again to join Dplus Kia, but the next two years proved difficult. The team fell short of its ambitions and ultimately failed to qualify for Worlds this season.
Aiming now returns to his former home, which has followed an entirely opposite trajectory. Few would have predicted KT Rolster becoming finalists at the biggest League of Legends tournament at the start of the year. The team grew stronger as the season progressed and reached peak form during Worlds. The botlane’s significant impact throughout the event was instrumental to their success.
Although Aiming is generally known for being more consistent than deokdam, he will face the expectation—especially from fans—to deliver performances on par with those showcased by his predecessor during Worlds. He will share the botlane with Oh "Pollu" Dong-gyu and former AD carry Jang "Ghost" Yong-jun, both of whom have joined KT Rolster as supports.
